Town of Smithfield

Smithfield on the James is located five minutes from the quaint and historic town of Smithfield, Virginia. In addition to museums and shops, the old historic district offers a grocery, pharmacy, parks, and great local restaurants, including the Smithfield Station restaurant, marina and hotel. Cypress Creek Signature Golfer's Club and the Smithfield Shopping Center are only ten minutes away. Regional shopping malls, hundreds of restaurants and movie screens, The Virginia Symphony and The Virginia Opera, the Central Business Districts of four major Hampton Roads cities, as well as Colonial Williamsburg via the Jamestown Ferry, are all within thirty to fifty minutes of our private community. Richmond, Virginia's Capitol, is but an hour and fifteen minutes from our entrance.

Smithfield Historic District
Smithfield celebrated its 250th anniversary in September of 2002, with a celebration of both its history and its new growth. Smithfield has also recently been included in "The 50 Best Small Southern Towns", a guide book to "charming, livable places affording a gentler way of life".
